Auto stamping dies are mostly used
to form metal parts. Metal parts are able to retain their form due to die
tooling procedure. Sheet metal stamping die is quite unique in terms of forming
materials into required shapes such as metal, wood & leather materials. Sheet
stamping is preferred in numerous applications.
Stamping die utilization's
High quality Auto Stamping Dies are normally preferred by automotive industry due to its ability to form numerous materials into desired parts for various sedans whereas, furniture makers prefer sheet metal stamping die which is quite demanding but provides enhanced level details to wooden or metal furniture’s.
Sketching desired design
Initially Sketch your design on a
piece of paper & copy it to avoid sketching again. Draw your design on the
surface of metal sheet using pencil & carbon paper. Apply saw to cut the
metal sheet into 2 equal pieces & glue them together. Use jewel saw to cut
your design with extensive care & apply file to smoothen the edges
afterwards use burnisher to polish your design. Now finally separate the two
sheets using acetone.
Merging pieces together
Apply similar procedure as mentioned
above to a plexiglass except the separation of two sheets. Stick both
previously formed metal sheets on each side of the plexiglass using a masking
tape. Drill a hole on each corner of the acrylic sheet & put a brass wire
within each hole. Cut wire ends & rivet each piece with riveting hammer. Remove
the tape & glue present on stamping die.
Voila your self-made metal stamping
die is now ready which can be used along with a hydraulic press to emboss your
design on numerous surfaces such as wood, metal, leather etc.
